BALANCED BODY® PILATES AND BARRE CERTIFICATION

Move ME Pilates Studio has teamed up with Balanced Body®, a worldwide leader in Pilates education. 

Our Pilates training focuses on the classical repertoire of Joseph Pilates, is infused with the art and science of movement, class design, client specific applications, postural alignment and thoughtful cuing. 

Our Barre course has its roots in the original Lotte Burke method and updates it with the Pilates movement principals to create a high energy, safe and fun workout for all fitness levels and ages.

Movement Principles

Movement Principles form the foundation of Balanced Body Education. The course mixes information on how the body works with basic exercises to illustrate the information in movement. 

Broken down into five categories: 

* Whole Body Movement

* Trunk Integration

* Lower Body Strength and Power

* Upper Body Strength and Balance 

*  Dynamic Flexibility, Rest and Relaxation

The focus on practical understanding of common movement patterns prepares instructors to be excellent at problem solving, goal setting and learning new exercise techniques with ease.

Pilates Mat Training

Mat  forms the foundation of the Pilates method. This course includes an introduction to the history and principles of the Pilates method and the beginning and intermediate level exercises. Each exercise includes training on modifications, challenges, the purpose of the exercise and any precautions for injuries and special populations. How to design and teach group classes and guidelines for teaching seniors and pre and post-natal classes are included.

Pilates Reformer Training

This course introduces the Universal Reformer,  the center piece of the Pilates equipment studio and an invaluable training tool. Reformer includes an introduction to safely using the Pilates Reformer for a wide variety of supine, seated and standing exercises for the beginning to intermediate student. Movement Principles include improving lower body alignment, creating balanced muscle development and learning a protocol for effectively training the upper body.

Balanced Body Barre

 

Balanced Body Barre takes the original Lotte Berk Barre method and updates it with Pilates movement principals to create a high energy, safe and fun workout for all fitness levels and ages.

In the course you will learn the choreography to lead an effective class with proper technique, exercise variations and how to teach with music.  We emphasize safety and body awareness while keeping the intensity and energy high.
